Hi, I’m Pastor Lara.

I have been assistant pastor at Immanuel since my ordination in June 2023. I am also a full-time high school English teacher in Yonkers, NY. I did my seminary studies through the North American Lutheran Seminary in Ambridge, PA. I also have a master’s in philosophy from Fordham University. I am interested in theology, church tradition and history, and literature.

I love being a part of the NALC! We are a confessional Lutheran church with a commitment to the Bible and discipleship and helping people follow Jesus in a confusing world.

My favorite activity, when I’m not at church, in the classroom, or schlepping my two sons to one of their many sports, is working in my garden.
