God our Father, glorious in giving life and even more glorious in restoring it: In his last night on earth your Son knew anguish and deep sorrow. Do not turn away from us, or we shall fall back into dust; but rather turn our mourning into joy by raising us up with your Son, Christ our Lord.<\/p>\n
1<\/sup>I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.<\/p>\n 2<\/sup>O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.<\/p>\n 3<\/sup>O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.<\/p>\n 4<\/sup>Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.<\/p>\n 5<\/sup>For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.<\/p>\n 6<\/sup>And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.<\/p>\n 7<\/sup>LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.<\/p>\n 8<\/sup>I cried to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication.<\/p>\n 9<\/sup>What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?<\/p>\n 10<\/sup>Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper.<\/p>\n 11<\/sup>Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;<\/p>\n 12<\/sup>To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent.
