Sinfonia Praetorius

Sinfonia Praetorius is the resident concert ensemble of Immanuel Lutheran Church. The ensemble performs early German literature from Isaac to Buxtehude, in recognition of the church's historical background as the principal German-American church of Upper East Side Yorkville.

Members of Sinfonia Praetorius

The core of the ensemble is the Immanuel Choir, augmented by many of our singing friends who have other church commitments. Recorders, historical brass, and strings also join us for Sinfonia Praetorius concerts.

Join Sinfonia Praetorius

We would like to invite interested singers and instrumentalists to join our church choir and regular Sinfonia instrumentalists for a fun program of Praetorius, Schutz, Schein, Senfl, Pachelbel, Walter, and others.

Please note: due to the tiny amount of funding we have for this concert, there is no honorarium involved. This is definitely a “for the love of music” opportunity. But we know there are lots of us who love Schutz out there!

If you'd like to join us for this concert, call the church and leave us a message, or write us at music@immanuelnyc.org
